CPRE Cornwall members are invited to our Annual General Meeting which will be held
at 11.00 am – 13.00 on Monday 1 June at Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum near St Austell. We are delighted to announce that Professor Malcolm Williams has kindly agreed to be our Guest Speaker. He was the founder of the Social Research Unit at Cardiff University, and his important research on new housing, its affordability, and its relationship to the Cornish economy has been praised for the light it shines on the real impact of commercial housing developments here in Cornwall.

We stand up for the countryside and we campaign on planning, conservation and environmental issues.
We support sustainable agriculture and fishing, the rollout of renewable energy for the benefit of local communities, and the mitigation of the threats posed by climate change.
We campaign for housing that people who live and work in Cornwall can afford, together with the infrastructure local people need.
We are an independent local charity working hard to curb land-hungry commercial developments on precious greenfield sites. We help preserve Cornwall’s unique environment and its rural way of life for the benefit of all. We believe that it is important to care for all that is best in Cornwall, balancing local development and a vibrant local economy with our beautiful countryside and coast.
