On Saturday 25 February we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Woodland Valley Farm, Ladock.
Woodland Valley is a 170 acre mixed farm, providing organic beef for direct local sales. The farm uses the principles of organic regenerative farming and is founded on the themes of conservation and sustainability.
Woodland Valley Farm is the home of the Cornwall Beaver Project, featured on BBC’s Springwatch. After being introduced to their new home and each other in 2017 the beavers have restored the wetland habitat and increased biodiversity.
We had an informative and lively AGM and a successful election of our committee, followed by two excellent guest speakers: Chris Jones, proprietor of Woodland Valley Farm and Martin Howlett, farmer and board member of Tamar Valley AONB and the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Local Nature Partnership. Suitably inspired, we then had a delicious homemade lunch prepared on the farm, followed by a tour of the Cornwall Beaver Project.
