Carbis Bay Hotel
Cornwall CPRE is delighted to report that after a drawn out battle, the enforcement order taken out by Cornwall Council against this hotel for the illegal building of a series of ‘meeting rooms’ has been upheld by the Government’s planning inspector. As a result the hotel is ordered to ‘demolish the three buildings and to reinstate the land to its former level, gradient and condition before the development was undertaken’.
In his summary of this development, the Inspector Mr Jarratt said, “I have found very significant harm to the character and appearance of the landscape”
Thank you Mr Jarratt, also to Cornwall CPRE, other campaigners and to all the protestors who have helped get such an excellent result.
