Many thanks to Rowena Castillo-Nicholls who organised our Tin Coast Field Tripnear St Just. We saw some awesome scenery, were touched by Cornwall’s tin mining history and the bird watchers had a good day too…

We had a stand on Saturday 13th July at the Liskeard Show, on Monday 15th July at the Sithians Show and Saturday 20th July at the Camborne Show.  These all gave us the chance to connect with the public and discuss current concerns regarding protecting the Cornish countryside, not to mention enrolling quite a few new members!

LOOKING AHEAD

August. A talk on Dark Skies, the implications for nocturnal wildlife and stargazing.  Please contact us for details:  There’s a rather fun interactive map on:

Join us for a guided tour of Camel Valley vineyard on Friday 6 September at 2.30pm. You will be shown round the winery, hear about the growing season of the vine and how the grapes are transformed into award-winning wines – and of course, a glass of wine is included! Allow an hour, if you have a schedule, or spend the afternoon trying wines on the terrace.

If you arrive early, there are lunch facilities at the vineyard and an optional walk too.  Booking must be in advance and the charge is £10.00 per head. Why not have the afternoon off and come along…

Registration is essential so please contact admin@cprecornwall.org to book your place on the tour. Tickets cost £10.00, payable on the day.  Location: Camel Valley, Nanstallon, Bodmin, Cornwall, PL30 5LG

We have a woodland walk on Saturday morning 21st September of about two miles, starting at the creek-side village of Helford,  to the historic farmstead of Kestle Barton where there is a art gallery and a beautiful garden. If you wish you can start on the Helford Passage side with a ferry ride across to the village or go straight to Kestle Barton.  Unsurprisingly, we will end with lunch at the waterside pub.

For further details of this event please watch this website or call 01872 480127.  Booking will be necessary as numbers will be limited.
